This is a most typical question that puzzles me all the time also.
Unfortunetly there is a statistics that can show the profit for year, profit per month, and actually to be honest, the profit it self in a short term isnt always precise.

It all depents on how you trade and how precise can you predict the price movement, and can price movement be really predicted?

In our entire experiance we have come to a conclusion that the price movement is not predictable.

So trading more relies on can you use risk management, plan your budget and how well you can do that + a little of predictions involved.

SOO... If you want to play safe and be good in trading with less risk involved you could end up with 4-10% a month.
If you have mastered the skill you could get around 10 - 25% a month. Profit from your entire capital. No the less wether it is futures or spot market trading.
With leverage or without leverage, risk remains the same.

When we look into top traders leaderboards of any exchange we will see traders making 30 000% a year, and 2000% month of ROI
Why is this?

Its because it uses different method of calculating profit.
It is calculated by, how much user invested of his own fonds into the trade, and how much he got back. So if you were to invest 100$ with 100x leverage and earned 200$ from the trade you already have + 200%..

How ever, there is always down drag, and those numbers or figures are not shown. So maybe the trader invested 100$ , but the market went down by -30% and caused the trader to have spare money in the account to not liquidate the trade with 50k$ and earned only 300$ affterwards...

There will need to be a different metric called down drag which is not public. So.. In other words,  you always need to mesure down drag vs. profit.
Maybe the trader earned 30 000% a year, which ends up for example with 100 000$ profit a year, but the trader needed to have 10 000 000$ in his account to protect his account from liquidation..

So how much did he earn from his overall balance not from the invested ones?
1% a year.

So here we come to a conclusion...
if exchange is unpredictable then a trader could earn around 4 - 10% using proper risk managment,
If a trader in any way can predict the move slightly better than 50/50 chances then he could earn slightly better than that.. Maybe 10 - 20%.

Public ROI metrics dont tell how much he earned form entire balance he had, and they dont tell how precise in predictions the trader was.
